The Lakes Road Club had a trip to the Manchester Velodrome last week for a session on the track, I was asked by the organiser to go along and get some pictures. It was my first time to the Velodrome and what a fantastic place it was, it looked like hard work for the guys (and girl) on the track and I captured some great shots of them in action. I arrived home tonight to find a fantastic canvas print of one of my pictures, courtesy of Lancashire Life magazine. The magazine has run a Lake District photography competition this year with a theme of 'Paradise Before Me', the competition was supported by the Wordsworth Trust. From the hundreds of images entered into the competition mine was judged into second place and I am over the moon with that result.

I was invited to photograph Race 6 of the South Windermere Sailing Club Frostbite 2009 series today, thanks for the invite Doug. After a rainy morning the weather turned out not so bad for the race and I managed one or two good shots, some of my favourites are in this gallery.
